  My vacation is over, going back to work today.  I had only scheduled monday through wednesday off last week, but I called in and took thursday and friday off too.  I had nine straight days off (but I was on call for part of it), can't believe it's over already.  I managed to get almost all of my planned work done, did some of the wiring, some of the plumbing, a lot of yard work.  Cooked about every day, washed dishes and cleaned every day, did a lot of laundry.  On the brighter side, I got to play guitar and drums a bit with my son, we played basketball, and I read a book.  And one night, I had a few beers.  Now I go back to work to see what kind of mess is waiting for me.   Our summer weather is kind of weird, a few days the temperature only reached the upper 60's, should be near 90.  Supposed to rain most of this week.    I have been wondering if I will ever again feel optimistic, feel like I have something to look forward to.  Even if I don't, I have a few things that keep me going.  Taking care of my kids, taking care of my house and lawn, doing my job, trying to pay all my bills.  Sometimes I wish there was something more.
